In the week of April 21 to 27, 2025, users were confronted with a variety of small and large tech mishaps – from suddenly empty chats and failed gestures to delayed system updates and strange audio disturbances. A look back at the turbulent seven days in the digital universe.
Communication at a Standstill
At the start of the week, it was noted that an iMessage chat with one’s own contact emptied completely, while simultaneously a new chat was created containing all previous messages. In FaceTime video calls, gestures like “thumbs up” failed entirely on several days, despite the hardware being fully up to date.
Streaming & Sync Issues
Apple TV refused, without any apparent reason, to connect via AirPlay to the home “Apple TV” station. At the same time, users complained of hours-long delays in real-time synchronization of photos and screenshots between Apple Watch and iPhone – some had to wait up to two hours for their captures to appear on the iPhone.
Wearables and Voice Assistants Pushed to the Limit
During recorded bike rides, incoming cellular calls via the Apple Watch failed; voice commands like “send message to…” aborted with an error stating the Watch was not online – later messages were sent as SMS instead of iMessage. Finally, Siri in one’s pocket stopped responding altogether after noise cancellation was activated.
Performance Drops and Update Hiccups
The iPhone 15 Pro showed in Photos & Videos settings only “Loading…” for an extended time before any content appeared. On the Meta Quest 3S, clicking “Update Now” resulted in no installation at all – only starting a screen recording triggered the update notification.
Audio Chaos on the Go
While traveling in Erfurt, users experienced a bizarre sequence: YouTube over AirPods Pro, then a FaceTime audio call – and suddenly audio played only in the right ear. Only after multiple hang-ups, callbacks, and disconnecting/reconnecting the headphones did stereo function return.
Unexpected Local Outage
At Böblingen station, the elevator remained out of service again, apparently the same fault as during a recent technician visit – to the great disappointment of all affected.

Conclusion
The week showed: even in a highly networked daily life, various software and hardware quirks can be annoying. Whether empty chats, slow synchronization, or audio disruptions – users now hope for timely patches and more stable platforms. Until then, our digital comfort test remains a constant balancing act between progress and frustration.
