In the week of May 5 to May 11, 2025, it became clear once again how fragile our digital daily life can be despite the most advanced infrastructure. A look back at the turbulent seven days in the tech universe.
Apple Music: Playback Interruptions on the ICE
The kickoff was an unexpected interruption of music playback in Apple Music: Several users reported that their playlists suddenly stopped during an ICE train ride despite stable Telekom 5G reception, and would only resume after a full iPhone restart.
DB Navigator: Error Message When Loading Trips
At the same time, the DB Navigator on iOS (v 25.6.2) caused frustration: Users inexplicably received the message “Unable to load all trips” (Error ID 2CC7BF81) and were unable to retrieve any connections – so far, even a support request has yielded no quick solution.
Schedule Cancellation: Late RE Connections Dropped
Deutsche Bahn itself caused confusion by quietly canceling the IC connection to Singen (via Rottweil): The usual late Regional-Express link to the surrounding area was removed entirely after 11 PM, and an official explanation is still pending.
Siri: Slow Responses & Complete Shutdown
After updating to iOS 18.4.1, Siri reacted noticeably sluggishly on first invocation. A joking deactivation request (“Hey Siri, I don’t need you anymore.”) ultimately silenced the voice assistant completely – until the next reboot.
Wallet Pass: Automatic Invitations Without Interaction
Strangely, automatic invitations to use the Wallet Pass feature appeared: Various websites displayed the prompt without any prior user action – an unexpected pop-up for many.
SMS vs. iMessage: Delivery Issues on 4G Networks
In brief 4G network outages, iPhones reportedly attempted to resend failed SMS messages multiple times via iMessage – despite three retries, the message remained “not delivered” and went unanswered.
Operational Practice on Buses: Air Conditioning Turned Off
Passengers in air-conditioned buses were puzzled by an unusual practice: Despite high temperatures, the air conditioning was left off to supposedly protect drivers from “catching a cold,” according to operator statements – to the annoyance of passengers.
macOS Update & App Glitches: SSL Errors and Download Debacle
On the Mac, repeated SSL errors appeared in the new ChatGPT macOS app, while Meta Horizon on iOS could neither be freshly installed nor updated from v308.0 to 318.1. The over-the-air update to macOS Sequoia 15.4.1, including Command Line Tools and Pro Video Formats, failed repeatedly – after a crash and countdown reboot, 30 minutes over a 5G hotspot yielded only 2 GB of download, far too little for a smooth process.

Conclusion
Whether streaming interruptions, app errors, or update glitches – users encountered a variety of digital stumbling blocks this week as well. The takeaway remains: Even sophisticated systems are not infallible and require patience, restarts, and persistent work-arounds.
Note: This report is based on documented incidents between May 5 and May 11, 2025 in Germany. All events cited are derived from user observations and reports of various incidents.
